Shaun Joubert is one of the top surfers coming out of South Africa. He is a stylish and talented natural-footer coming from Mossel Bay in Stellenbosch and surfs way beyond his years. Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape, a stretch of coast known for solid right-handers, no crowds and plenty of great secret spots. I first met Shaun at my factory when he was travelling with Jordy Smith and they both dropped in to pick up boards for the Australian leg. He has since won the Durban Oakley Pro Junior, 2007 Billabong Bali “Occy” Grom Comp and the ISA World Games. He rides the Protag model as his regular shortboard at 5’9 x 18 1/4 x 2 1/4 with a rounded squash.
