    Local rippers – Sam Wrench

Sam Wrench is 20 years old hailing from Ulladulla, South Coast NSW. Sam is a great tube rider, savvy competitor and an accomplished aerialist but really excels when the waves get big and barrel.” In 2009 he proved he could compete with the very best taking out the Oakley Pro Junior Challenge at Keramas in 4-5 foot glassy barrels. This year he is hoping to have a solid crack at the WQS combining this with as many freesurfing trips as possible.

Wrenchy’s favourite board is the new model The Silent Savage. “The whole Hawaii season I rode the Silent Savage. It was so good. It is thinner so you feel closer to the water but is still really buoyant. When you bury the rail it does the best hacks and has so much pop off the lip. It was perfect in hawaii from 1-5 ft.”
    His quiver:
    1. 6’1 1/2 x 18 5/8 x 2 5/16 Silent Savage round squash tail.
